St Joseph's Tobruk Memorial School Celebrates Sr Jenny Scari's Jubilee:
A Heartfelt Tribute to 50 Years of Faith
St Joseph's Tobruk Memorial School community came together on Thursday, 15th August, to celebrate a momentous occasion: Sr Jenny Scari's 50th Jubilee. The event was a heartfelt tribute to Sr Jenny's five decades of unwavering dedication to Catholic Education, her commitment to living God's call in the Josephite family, and her profound impact on the lives of students, staff, and the wider community.
The celebration commenced with a special liturgy in the Sr Jenny Centre, where students, staff, and community members gathered to honour Sr Jenny's remarkable journey. The hall was filled with a spirit of gratitude and reverence as everyone reflected on Sr Jenny's contributions to the Joey's community, including her time as School Principal from 1993 to 1994 and her 20 years as a pastoral worker.
During the liturgy, moving tributes were made to Sr Jenny, acknowledging her role in fostering the school's core values of dignity, compassion, courage, and faith in God. Her dedication was beautifully encapsulated in the readings, prayers, and hymns chosen for the occasion.
Following the liturgy, attendees were invited to join Sr Jenny for a special session of 'Sr Jenny's Cuppa,' a tradition she established to build community and offer a space for connection. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as parents, students, and staff shared stories and expressed their gratitude to Sr Jenny over a cuppa.
"Sr Jenny's commitment to our community and her unwavering faith have left a profound mark on all of us," said Principal Kevin Billion. "Today's celebration was a fitting tribute to her 50 years of service and the love she has shared with our Joey's family."
The event was a true reflection of the spirit of St Joseph's Tobruk Memorial School, where faith, community, and education come together to create a nurturing environment for all. The legacy of Sr Jenny Scari will continue to inspire generations to come.
